EUGENE, Ore. – Baylor track and field freshman TJ Holmes took third in the IAAF World Junior Championships 400-hurdle finals with a time of 50.07 Friday at Hayward Field. Holmes started strong, but faded down the stretch as Jamaica’s Jaheel Hyde (49.29) and Bahrain’s Ali Khamis (49.55) took first and second. EUGENE, Ore. – To open his run at the IAAF World Junior Championships, Baylor track and field sprinter Trayvon Bromell turned in the fastest 100-meter qualifying time of 10.13 on Tuesday at Hayward Field. Bromell ran out of lane three in the sixth of seven heats. He had the top reaction time on the day (0.115) and then cruised to the win in his heat to earn a spot in Wednesday’s semifinals.     EUGENE, Ore. – Baylor track and field freshman TJ Holmes won the 400-meter hurdle title at the USATF Junior Championships with a time of 50.02 on Sunday at Hayward Field. The St. Petersburg, Fla., product moved into first as he cleared the final hurdle and then held on to take a .11 second victory over second-place finisher Kenneth Selmon.
