McGregor's 'SpaceX' debuts world's largest rocket

Posted: Updated:

Big news from Space Exploration Technologies ('SpaceX') as the company debuts the final specifications and launch date for world's largest rocket.

The company says its Falcon Heavy will "carry more payload to orbit or escape velocity than any vehicle in history, apart from the Saturn V moon rocket, which was decommissioned after the Apollo program."

'SpaceX' is a well-known name in Central Texas as it runs one of it's facilities in McGregor.

The Falcon Heavy spacecraft will arrive at a Vandenberg, California launch complex by the end of next year, with liftoff to follow soon thereafter.

The company is planning a launch from Cape Canaveral for late 2013 or 2014.
