Jillian Angeline

Jillian Angeline brings her skills as a trained, experienced and determined multi-platform journalist and her passionate on-air personality to KCEN. Jillian’s news experience spans continents and across the United States from New York to Los Angeles.

Jillian was just 7-years-old when she began her broadcast career.  Her first story was talking with local firefighters for Fire Prevention Month.  During the interview, they received a call, suited up and raced to a fire.  That first experience ignited her passion for journalism.

Her journalism experience in New York includes stories following the death of Michael Jackson and during the long recovery for Hurricane Sandy victims.  In Los Angeles, she reported on the Occupy movement, elections and violent crime in the USC neighborhood.

In 2013, Jillian Angeline hopped on a plane, traveling 8,000 miles for an Anchoring and Reporting gig on the island of Saipan in the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.  Saipan is 3 hours south of Japan and 8 hours west of Hawaii.  She anchored the nightly news and reported during the day and night, depending on the news throughout Micronesia.  Jillian became a PADI certified scuba diver on Saipan, exploring the oceans of the Marianas.   When Category 4 Typhoon Soudelor hit Saipan in 2015, the worst typhoon to hit the island in decades, she joined the front lines reporting just hours after the storm passed.

Jillian brings an endless curiosity and passion to the people and stories she encounters as a broadcast journalist. The Jersey girl combines her love of traveling with journalism.  She recently completed a three week stint as a Reporter covering the first female World Cup in the Middle East, the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in Amman, Jordan.  Her duties included covering matches as well as completing video recaps of the World Cup events.  While in Jordan, she visited the Al Za'atari Syrian Refugee Camp to learn how the UNHCR and Asian Football Development Programme are promoting sport among youth within the camp's boundaries.

Jillian is excited to be covering Fort Hood and military matters for KCEN.  She cannot wait to sample all of the Texas barbecue options.  Follow her adventures on Twitter @JLAngeline.

Jillian is a proud University of Southern California Trojan graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and minoring in Economics and Forensics.  When she is not on the military beat, Jillian enjoys family time, working out and exploring new cities.  She especially loves giving snuggles to her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Winnie.  She manages the retriever’s Instagram, winniethetoller.
