Stephen Adams assumed the role of Digital Content Manager at KCEN-TV in Central Texas in March 2016. He had previously served as a reporter and weekend producer at the station since joining TEGNA in January 2016.
In his reporter role, Stephen covered Baylor University’s mishandling of sexual assault allegations, investigated questionable plea deals in Coryell County, investigated the disappearance and death of Fort Hood soldier Dakota Stump, and launched an ongoing segment recognizing outstanding teachers.
Stephen worked as a freelance reporter at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, N.Y. before trading northeast snowstorms for the Texas heat. At WBNG, he was the first reporter to be live on scene of a hospital parking garage collapse, for which the station won a New York State Broadcasters Association award for best spot news coverage. Stephen also played a vital role in team coverage of the Dannemora prison break, investigated the outsourcing of public food services to Aramark and spearheaded coverage of school budget cuts that ultimately resulted in a major donation that saved programs.
He graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College, where he majored in journalism and minored in politics.
