A Selena Christmas: A Boerne family's light show honors the Tejano legend

The Hinojosa family has gone viral for setting their Christmas light show to Selena's "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom."

Selena fans always dream about what could’ve been if the Tejano legend were still alive today.

One thing we do know is that Selena would’ve totally released a Christmas album and we’d probably listen to it all year, not just during the holiday season.

But one family is Boerne is bringing Christmas to Selena.

The Hinojosa family has been doing light shows in front of their house for the past four years, and this year, they decided that one of their songs would be Selena’s “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.”

The video of their show has blown up on social media.

Beto Hinojosa, Boerne ISD principal, said that he played the Selena song for his 3-year-old this year and he loved it, so he decided to make it part of his light show this Christmas.

“Anything for Selena” he said, invoking the hilarious scene from the famous biopic starring Jennifer Lopez.

Hinojosa Family Lights, located at 140 Shadow Knolls (you can find their Facebook page here), has a few other songs as part of this year’s light show including Moana’s “How Far I’ll Go” and a tribute to the troops as well.

Weather permitting, you can see the show from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. during the week and until 11 p.m. on the weekends.
