(KCEN) -- New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie pledged millions of dollars in aid to rebuild businesses destroyed in a devastating fire along the Jersey shore.

The money will cover loans and grants that the businesses need to rebuild along the shore and more money may be available if it's needed for later expenses.

There is still no word on what started Thursday's fire that burned most of the boardwalk from Seaside Heights to Seaside Park.

Most of those businesses that burned down had just recently been rebuilt after Superstorm Sandy hit the Jersey shore in October of last year.
