(KCEN) -- An area congressman wants more answers about just how far-reaching the health impact is of the explosion in West.

Representative Bill Flores wrote a letter to the head of the Texas Department of State Health Services on Thursday.

According to a Dallas Morning News report, Flores wants a better survey of the suffering caused by the blast.

That could be anything from mental strain to physical problems.

A study was done, but critics call it incomplete, since it focuses only on obvious physical wounds immediately treated in local hospitals.

Flores says better documentation would help the government come up with better ways to protect the public in the future.
