The Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce will host its annual 'Juneteenth parade' in Waco Saturday.

Juneteenth commemorates the announcement of the abolishment of slavery in Texas, and the emancipation of African-American slaves throughout the confederate south.

"The children are really going to enjoy it, they're really going to enjoy the parade," Leveda Brown, President of Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce, said. "We have over 400 people in the parade this year."

The parade take place from Paul Quinn College to Indian Spring Park.

After the parade, the Waco NAACP will host a block party at Carver Park at noon.
