Police are investigating a "break-in" at Hewitt Elementary that occurred on Thursday evening. The suspect or suspects broke a window on the second floor and gained access to the school on the "back-side."

On Friday morning police arrived to the scene to begin their investigation. Police told Channel 6 News that surveillance caught the suspect or suspects heading into the computer lab.

On Friday morning police began to "take inventory" to find out if anything was stolen. The investigation will continue.

School starts next week for Midway ISD and Hewitt Elementary. Only teachers and administrators were on campus Friday. The students will arrive next week to begin class and this "break-in" should not effect the start of school or any classroom activities.
