A system pressure loss caused the City of Temple to issue a Boil Water Notice Thursday evening.
While the city was repairing an eight inch waterline break at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Morgan's Point Road, water pressure in a few pipes fell below 35 psi, a city spokesperson said. In response, customers living nearby were urged to boil their water before drinking.
Residents living in the following areas should boil their water: 11200-11700 blocks of West Adams Avenue, the area from Bonnie Lane west to SP Terry and the Lago Terra and Oaks at Lakewood subdivisions.
Tap water should be brought to a vigorous boil for two minutes before consuming, or residents should buy bottled water, if they choose not to boil. The city said it would notify residents when the water was safe to drink again.
Anyone with questions should contact the Temple Utility Department at 254-298-5611.
