The massive amount of rain that fell Monday night and through Tuesday morning caused damage to a retaining wall at South I-35 and North Loop 363.

Crews were working to stabilize the wall Tuesday afternoon and had the interstate closed at Exit 304.

TxDOT said it would take a minimum of 2-3 hours to repair the damage.  They advised drivers to take the 304 exit, turn right and drive the six miles before getting back on southbound I-35.

Northbound lanes were also slow beginning at FM 1237 and Pendleton Road in Troy.  The rain caused flooding over the main lanes under the overpass.

As of 2 p.m., the water had cleared but the large amount of mud and debris still made that section of the highway impassable.

TxDOT estimated it would take 1-2 hours to get the lanes reopened.

Traffic was diverted to the access road through Troy then back onto the interstate.
