Police are investigating after a dead body was found near the University Center on the University of Texas at Arlington campus.

The unidentified body was found at the loading dock on the north side of the E.H. Hereford University Center around 10:30 a.m. The body was found near a delivery truck.

UTA police told News 8 the body may have been a homeless person who died of a medical issue.

A small area around the scene was blocked off, but the university was not placed on lockdown. Classes resumed as usual and a university spokesperson told UTA’s campus newspaper, The Shorthorn, that the school was not under any threat.

Campus police, Arlington Police and the Tarrant County medical examiner were at the scene early Monday afternoon.
