Today Show correspondent Jenna Bush Hager visited Waco Monday to interview Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines for an upcoming segment.

At just 34 years old, Bush Hager has already been a teacher, author and mother, in addition to making appearances as the daughter of President George W. Bush. And, she recently began her eighth year as a TODAY correspondent.

"I did not expect to work in this line of work at all," Bush Hager said. "I was a teacher. I loved teaching. And, I was on the Today Show for a book that I wrote in Latin America and another that I co-wrote with my mom. And, that's how this all came to be."

In 2008, Bush Hager was in McLennan County, where she married her husband Henry. Last year, the couple welcomed their second daughter.

"I ask constantly for advice about how to balance work and motherhood because, to me, being a mom is the most important job I can have," Bush Hager said.

Bush Hager said NBC keeps her on the road about three days a week. And while she hinted she may eventually dial back her travel to spend more time with her family, she said she immensely enjoys her work at TODAY.

"I have no idea where this work is going to take me, and I think that's part of the beauty," she added.
