Family of murdered Hillsboro woman looking for justice

It’s been six days since Deon Slider was gunned down in the parking lot of the Crestrdidge apartment complex in Hillsboro, where she lived.

“I'm just hurt. Words can’t express what I feel right now, when you lose a child, there’s not much you can say.” Said her father Tony, fighting back tears.

Slider was shot and killed in her car Friday morning. Her four year old child was sitting in the backseat.

“To kill a young lady like that in front of her baby… that’s pure evil.” Said Slider's boyfriend Kenneth Wallace.

Her friends and family came together Thursday night, not just to remember her life, but push for answers.

“We’re fueled by a fire, because we want justice, and we’re not going to stop until we get it.” Says her cousin Tomeka Womack.

Police still have no suspects, and no arrests have been made.

Surrounded by family and friends Thursday night, Deon's mother made a desperate plea to anyone who may have any information that may help solve her daughter's murder.

“Imagine if this was your child, would you want someone to withhold the information that they had about what happened and not get justice for your child? So that’s all i’m asking, I just need someone to come forward, if it’s small or big just tell it.”

If anyone has information please contact the Hillsboro Crime Stoppers at 254 580-9120 or Detective Orozco at 254 582-8406.
