Macy's Headquarters is shutting down nearly 100 Macy's nationwide, including the Temple location.

Monday marks a four-day, 20 percent to 40 percent clearance sale off everything in the entire store until it closes on Thursday.

The sale brought in shoppers from all over Central Texas. For some, the doors closing at Macy's was a long time coming.

"I've been shopping in here for 10 years, and for years the mall has been going down, the merchandise, the quality," Kim Chisholm, Harker Heights resident, said. "So, I'm not really surprised they shut down this one."

Others can't believe the Temple Mall staple is leaving.

"Wow. (Macy's) been here for a while," Killeen resident David Hicks said. "It's kind of wild. I'm originally from Philadelphia so for me it's kind of like, why would you close down Macy's? It's historical."

Macy's will be converted into Dillard's after the closing.
