A man was displaced after losing his home to a fire Sunday night in the 6300 block of Pat Cole Road near Temple.

Nine units and 22 personnel were dispatched to the scene. Around 7:15 p.m., crews arrived at the burning wood-framed house, which was remotely located off the road.

Officials said firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to a nearby home. The burning house, however, received extensive damage was deemed a total loss.

The Bell County Fire Marshal was called to investigate the cause because the home was technically located just outside Temple city limits.
