Four people are displaced after a house fire Wednesday afternoon located in the 1200 block of North 17th Street.
Temple Police, Scott & White EMS and Oncor Electric responded. The fire department responded with 11 units and 26 personnel. The call was dispatched at 5:16 pm.
Officials said firefighters arrived at 5:21 p.m. to find heavy flames and smoke showing from the rear corner of the house. No one was found inside of the house after personnel conducted an interior search.
Flames were quickly spreading to the house next door. Crews worked to limit the fire damage to the exterior trim of the nearby house.
The home is a total loss estimated at $150,000.
The American Red Cross is working to assist the displaced family.
The fire was under control at 5:54 p.m. and the last unit cleared the scene at 8:11 p.m.
The investigation is still ongoing.
