A Kansas man is being hailed as a Good Samaritan after he was struck and killed by an SUV on the side of Interstate 35 in southern Oklahoma while helping a Killeen teenager change a tire that had blown out.

Shane Miller, 47, was driving home to Kansas with his daughter after attending his brother-in-law's funeral in Houston when he stopped to assist Bennie Gamble Jr., 17 -- a complete stranger who was stranded on the side of the interstate, according to a GoFundMe campaign. Gamble had been traveling to Kansas to visit family. Both died at the scene.

Gamble had just graduated high school and secured a job. He left behind four brothers and four sisters, according to the donation page.

Relatives of Gamble, along with Miller's 11-year-old daughter witnessed the whole tragedy, according to the GoFundMe page, which was set up to cover the cost of their burials. You can donate by clicking here.
