Hotel employee causes disturbance, assaults security officer, Bellmead police say

A Bellmead man is in the McLennan County Jail for allegedly assaulting a security officer Friday at a Bellmead hotel.

A Bellmead man is in the McLennan County Jail for allegedly assaulting a security officer Friday at a Bellmead hotel.

According to Bellmead police, around 10:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the hotel located in the 1300 block of Behrens Circle.

When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the security officer who told them the suspect, a hotel maintenance worker identified as 37-year-old Nathan Wayne Taylor was causing a disturbance with the front desk clerk.

The victim said he requested Taylor to leave the lobby. As Taylor was leaving, the officer said he showed him with his body and then pushed him away.

Taylor continued to escalate the disturbance by attempting to get the officer into a physical altercation. The security officer said Taylor pulled a knife and yelled “do something” to him. Taylor put the knife down and a citizen to him to another part of the complex away from the officer who contacted police following the incident.

Officers found Taylor on the property and he was taken into custody without incident.

He was booked into jail for a first-degree felony, Aggravated Assault against a Security Officer.
