An infant just six days away from being three-months old was found dead in a Moffat home.
Officials said around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, a call came in from the residence on Capstan Drive that a baby was unresponsive inside the house. Once emergency crews arrived, they began CPR on the boy but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said the case is a death investigation and at his point has not been classified as a homicide or a suspicious death.
“The mother was home as well as a family friend and grandparents and someone in that home notified police when it happened,” Bell County SO Lt. TJ Cruz said.
Cruz said the parents of the child are cooperating with police and investigators are still interviewing with them inside the home.
The baby’s body will be sent to Dallas for an autopsy and the results will determine how the investigation will move forward.
