A letter was sent to Maxdale Elementary School parents after a student reportedly brought a BB gun to school Tuesday.

In the letter from the school’s principal, Bobbie Evans, a number of other students reported Wednesday morning that the student had brought the gun the previous day.

School administrators conducted a thorough review and notified Killeen ISD Police.

Officials said no one was hurt in the incident.

Dear Parents,

I want to make you aware of a situation that occurred at Maxdale Elementary School. This morning a number of students reported that a student had a BB gun at school yesterday. School administration immediately conducted a thorough review and notified KiSD Police. No one was harmed.

The review determined that a fifth-grade student did bring a BB gun to school on Tuesday. The student will be subject to disciplinary placement in an alternative setting.

Maxdale Elementary School is dedicated to ensuring student safety as our very highest priority. Please continue to encourage your child to support our “safety first” approach and immediately report any incident that might create a safety concern.
