McGregor graduate with passion for music dies in Lee County auto wreck

Visitation was scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Valley Mills.

A 19-year-old McGregor resident and Temple native died after an auto crash in Lee County on Wednesday.

Gage Hollingsworth, a freshman at Stephen F. Austin State University, was involved in a crash near Giddings.

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church located at 302 Avenue C in Valley Mills. He will then be buried at the Valley Mills Cemetery, according to Foss Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church.

Gage shared a passion for music with his uncle and hoped to teach music one day, according to his obituary. Memorials may be made to the McGregor High School Band in Gage's name. Memorials should be mailed to the McGregor High School Band, Attn: Karen Tucker, PO Box 356, McGregor, TX 76657.

According to his obituary, Gage was born in Temple on Dec. 29, 1998 and graduated from McGregor High School in 2017. He was known for his infectious smile and sense of humor.
