First responders were dispatched to the scene of a three-vehicle crash off Highway 317 near Moody Saturday afternoon.

DPS said a black vehicle was traveling southbound on Hwy. 317, crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a white Chevrolet Cruze.

A silver Nissan, which was traveling northbound behind the white Chevrolet Cruze, swerved off the road in order to avoid striking the white vehicle from behind and hit a tree.

The driver of the white Chevrolet Cruze needed to be extracted from the vehicle and was sent to the hospital with a broken leg, according to DPS. No other injuries have been reported.

DPS blocked off traffic in both directions to assess the crash and cleanup. No alternate route was provided by authorities.
