A Killeen ISD school bus and a car collided around 3:17 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Old Florence Road and Elms Road.

Killeen Police said a white Toyota Avalon was in the middle turning lane waiting for eastbound traffic to clear while the school bus was trying to turn westbound on Elm. A KISD spokesperson said the bus and car then collided, but a police spokesperson said it was too early to say which vehicle was at fault.

The school bus was carrying 34 students from Reeces Creek Elementary School. One student was looked at by EMS personnel as a precaution, but the student did not need to be transported to a medical facility. The school district said no students were injured.

Most students were picked up by their parents at the crash scene. Six others were picked up by another KISD bus, and an assistant principal rode with them to their stops.

Killeen Police Spokesperson Ofelia Miramontez said the vehicles sustained very minimal damage.

Miramontez said the crash was under investigation.
