A Waco resident helped officers nab four burglary suspects early Thursday morning.

Officials said around 4:00 a.m., officers responded to the China Spring area after the resident called in a burglary of a motor vehicle in progress in the 10000 block of Aquilla Trail.

Law Enforcement received the call after the resident came out of his home and found a male breaking into his car. The resident was able to locate the suspects, the suspect vehicle, and started following them, according to Waco police.

The victim pursued the suspect vehicle until it wrecked at Tree Lake and Flatrock. The driver of the suspect vehicle pulled a gun on the victim and told him to go away – forcing the victim to back away. However, the victim continued to provide dispatch with information on the theives location.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested four suspects, 18-year-old Next Rutledge, 20-year-old Kimbresha Starts, 27-year-old Derrick Beverly, and 19-year-old Cuvale Cappell.

All were arrested for Engaging in Organized Crime. Rutledge was also arrested on Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Police were able to recover the victim’s property and items from other burglaries.
