A man who was a person of interest in a December 2016 Temple home invasion murder has been charged with the crime Thursday.

Officials charged 31-year-old Quentorius Tramaine Simmons with murder. Simmons was already in the Bell County Jail on unrelated charges when he was served with the warrant.

On the night of December 13, 2016, Temple Police Officer responded to a shooting at the 1200 block of South 10th Street. Officers at the scene discovered two men forced themselves into the home and demanded money.

The suspects shot the male victim before fleeing the residence.

Detectives with the Temple Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division reviewed the case Thursday with the Bell County DA’s Office.

The warrant was issued by Justice of the Peace Barfield who set a $1,000,000 bond.
