A teen mom left her infant in the car, scaled a fence, kicked in the door of the baby's father's house, tried to harm him and grabbed his mother by the neck in Bellmead.

Samantha Vergara, 19, was arrested around 5 a.m. Sunday at the baby's father's home in the 800 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Police said Vergara and the child's 32-year-old father spent time together over the weekend, but they got into an argument that caused the father to leave. Hours later, Vergara drove to his house and left the two-week-old baby in her car -- with the windows down -- outside a locked gate, investigators said. She then scaled a fence and knocked on the door, eventually kicking the door in when the father did not open it, police explained.

"Once she forced her way into the home, Vergara walked in and went after the victim," Bellmead Police Sgt. Kory Martin said in a press release. "In the process, the victim's mother stepped between her son and Vergara. Vergara grabbed the victim's mother around the neck."

Sgt. Martin said nobody was injured during altercation.

Vergara was taken to the McLennan County Jail and charged with burglary of a habitation and abandoning or endangering a child. Both are second degree felonies. She was also charged with criminal trespass, which is a class A misdemeanor.
