(KCEN) -- The next round in the fight over Texas' abortion restrictions begins this week.

The law restricts how, when and where a woman can obtain an abortion in Texas.

Planned Parenthood wants the laws blocked.

They say those new regulations keep a third of Texas women from accessing a safe and legal abortion when they go into effect on Oct. 29.

Today the women's health provider is fighting back against new abortion restrictions that caused more than a dozen of its abortion clinics to close.

A judge will hear arguments today over whether enforcement of the law should be stopped until abortion rights advocates have a chance to argue their case at trial.

The Texas attorney general's office will argue the law doesn't violate the U.S. Constitution and should be enforced.
