VIDEO TIMELINE: 3 days of celebration, mourning for President George H.W. Bush

TEMPLE, Texas — Former President George H.W. Bush was laid to rest Thursday after three days of celebration and mourning.

Monday, just three days after learning of the passing of the beloved 41st U.S. president, Bush's remains were flown from Houston to Washington D.C. where his body laid in state and thousands of mourners paid respects and showed honor.

Wednesday, a state funeral filled with sobs, laughter and an emotional eulogy given by Bush's son George W. Bush was held in our nation's capitol.

The celebration of Bush 41's life concluded Thursday after an emotional funeral service in Houston where mourners paid their respects to the President at St. Martin's Episcopal Church. We then had a ride-along view from Locomotive 4141 as it carried Bush 41's remains to the George Bush Presidential Library Center in College Station where he was laid to rest.

THURSDAY

12:30 p.m.

Locomotive 4141 carries the casket of George H.W. Bush to College Station in nearly four-hour historic ride.

10 a.m.

Former President George H.W. Bush remembered and honored during an emotional Houston funeral at St. Martin's Episcopal Church.

WEDNESDAY

The funeral for former President George H.W. Bush at the Washington National Cathedral was attended by all the living presidents and began day two of three days of remembrance.

4:55 p.m.

Special Air Mission 41 carrying George H.W. Bush’s casket arrived at Ellington Field in Houston. His body laid in repose at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.

4:15 p.m.

The 89th Airlift Wing flew over Bush Library in College Station as a tribute to former President George H.W. Bush before landing at Ellington Field in Houston.

8:30 a.m.

A ceremony was held Wednesday at Washington National Cathedral, the nexus of state funerals. Family members, US leaders, world dignitaries, and citizens honored the Republican president.

MONDAY

The body of America's 41st President George H.W. Bush embarked on his final tour of Washington D.C. Monday before making its way to Texas to be laid to rest in at the Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M University in College Station.

3:45 p.m.

Former President George H. W. Bush's casket arrives at U.S. Capitol where his body will lie in state until Wednesday.

2:22 p.m.

Special Air Mission 41 lands at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland carrying President George H.W. Bush and several members of his family.

9:30 a.m.

The body of 41st President George H. W. Bush traveled from Houston to Washington D.C. where it will in state until he is laid to rest Thursday in College Station.

8:15 a.m.

We watched as preparations began for the departure ceremony at Ellington Field in Houston.
