No. 12/16 Baylor softball (43-12) will host a public watch party for the 2017 NCAA Division I Softball Selection Show on Sunday, May 14, in the Stone Room at the Ferrell Center.

The show airs at 9 p.m. CT on ESPN 2, with the doors opening at 8:15 p.m. and the team scheduled to arrive at 8:30 p.m.

Baylor is hoping for its first Regional hosting draw since 2014, the last time the program qualified for the Women’s College World Series.

Ranked No. 10 in the most recent NCAA RPI rankings, the Lady Bears have boosted their resume with six wins over top-25 RPI teams, including two over top-10 competition. BU also boasts the fourth-toughest non-conference strength of schedule.

With a No. 13 ranking in the NCAA RPI in 2016, the Lady Bears were the lone top-16 RPI team shut out from hosting, with BU instead trekking across the country to face No. 5 Oregon in the Eugene Regional, finishing the season in the Region finals.

Fans and media are invited and encouraged to attend the public watch party, with light refreshments provided.
