A back-and-forth game couldn't keep the Baylor Lady Bears from winning their eighth Big 12 Championship in the past nine years.

No. 3 Baylor beat No. 7 Texas 77-69 in the Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship Game at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City to clinch the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

With the win, the Lady Bears move to 31-0 in 2017-18 when leading at the half. Baylor led 35-33 at halftime Monday.

Junior forward Kalani Brown was named the tournament's most outstanding player after averaging 24.7 points in three games in Oklahoma City. That's on top of her recognition as Big 12 Player of the Year.

Up next, the Lady Bears will likely be a 1-seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Women's Tournament Selection Show is March 12 on ESPN at 6 p.m.
