Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team grabbed a 5-0 victory over Concordia University (Texas) Sunday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 14-12 on the season and 11-10 in American Southwest Conference action while the Tornados fell to 15-13 overall and 12-9 in conference play.

Leah Brown gave UMHB an early lead with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the third, scoring Kourtney Bevers and Meredith Langford. Brown struck again in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI triple allowing Myranda Hinojosa to score. The Cru added two more runs with an RBI single from Kunz and run off a Tornado error for a 5-0 lead after five. The Tornados were unable to respond in the final two innings, solidifying the Cru's 5-0 victory. Hinojosa led the Cru with three hits while Brown and Janie Neyland each added two. UMHB totaled 11 hits and no errors while the Tornados had three hits and three errors. Rebekah Ragsdale earned the win in the circle for the Cru, striking out eight batters and allowing just three hits. Sydney Coffey took the loss for Concordia, falling to 6-7 on the season.

UMHB returns to action Tuesday, April 1st in a 3 p.m. doubleheader against Trinity University at Dee Dillon Field in Belton.
