Salado church doing their part amidst tornado crisis

The C3 Cowboy Fellowship Church in Salado is offering their services to tornado victims in need all weekend.

SALADO, Texas — As the Salado tornado victims continue to heal and inch toward restoring what they've lost, others in the community who were unaffected are trying to help the process.

The C3 Cowboy Fellowship Church in Salado is offering their services to tornado victims in need all weekend and they say they just want to be a place here people can feel at home while they try and get their own homes back.

"Our team has been called on or we feel like the Lord has called us to open the church and to try to be an outreach to the people in the community," Reba Dunnam, a member of the church's mission team told me. "To provide a simple meal. It's nothing fancy."

She says the people have lost so much and no one should have to go through that. Crisis is when people at her church turn to their faith to feel closer to their neighbors.

Over a year ago, Dunnam remembers when she and her husband were without power and water during the massive winter storms in 2021. Now, with a chance to pay it forward, she and the church are taking the opportunity.

"We survived, but we had people who reached out to us at that time and loved on us and that's what we want to do for other people, just show the love."

The C3 Cowboy Fellowship doors will be open tomorrow and Sunday to anyone who needs a hot meal, a shower, or just a place to get away from the destruction.
