Border Patrol agents seized nearly $1 million dollars worth of methamphetamine hidden inside containers of canned cheese at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Inspection Station Check Point in Sarita, Texas, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Officials said in the early hours of March 23, a Border Patrol K9 alerted to the lower luggage compartment of a charter bus.
Agents identified the source as an abandoned suitcase containing four containers of canned cheese and located nearly 30 pounds of methamphetamine - worth an estimated $932,000 - inside them.
According to Department of Homeland Security, the methamphetamine will be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
