Shipt delivers H-E-B groceries to homes in Temple and Killeen

Shipt customers pay an annual fee of $99 for unlimited grocery deliveries.

A subscription-based grocery delivery service launched in Temple and Killeen Tuesday and promises to bring H-E-B purchases directly to front doors in Central Texas.

Shipt, which first opened in Alabama in 2014, uses a mobile app to connect its users with fresh groceries delivered by its paid shoppers.

Currently serving more than 65 cities, Shipt also launched in College Station Tuesday and is scheduled to expand its already existing service in Austin and San Antonio on Thursday.

Normally, Shipt customers pay an annual fee of $99. However, the company is currently offering users the opportunity to try its service free for two weeks in Temple and Killeen, then get $15 off their first order. The promotion was slated to continue through at least the end of August, according to a spokesperson.

Subscribers can receive unlimited deliveries, and any deliveries of more than $35 are free.

"People use Shipt for the first time for convenience, but they continue to use it because of the quality," Spokesperson Julie Coop said.

Coop said Shipt was always looking for more paid shoppers. Applicants undergo full background checks and video interviews. You can apply by clicking here.
