It's getting easier for people to give blood, and easier for a major central Texas blood donation group to keep track of it all.
Carter BloodCare opened up its new headquarters on Archway Drive right off Highway 84 in Woodway Thursday.
Carter cut the ribbon on the new 30,000 sq. ft. facility this morning.
Along with new donation spaces, it includes space for a future blood work lab, so they won't have to send off their samples to another clinic.
But the biggest advantage is it consolidates four smaller offices scattered around the area.
"It's easier all of us being in the same building, we can get it done right then and there instead of having to wait," said collection instructor Natasha Gaddy. "It is good for everyone to be in the same place."
"Now it's a matter of walking down the hall versus getting the car and driving from the Wells Fargo tower over off Lake Air to 8th Street in downtown Waco," added B.J. Smith, vice president of regional operations.
They've been moving their operations into the $8.5 million building over the last couple months.
People were already donating blood there Thursday morning.
