Congressman Flores Talks Washington

(KCEN) -- Congressman Bill Flores was in Waco Thursday afternoon to talk with the McLennan County Republican Club.

On the agenda? Issues in Washington.

He says many people are asking who won or lost the shutdown battle, but he sees the whole thing as a tie.

One of the biggest worries for Flores was the funding for veterans' assistance running out.

"The republicans didn't get a lot of what we wanted out of this deal, but then on the other hand, the government has reopened and we avoided a debt default and I was concerned about that," Flores said.

Congressman Flores also used the luncheon as an opportunity to announce that he will be running for another term in office.
