Suspect in Waco armed robbery was already behind bars on another charge

Police announced Friday they had arrested a man in connection with a Nov. 13 aggravated robbery at the Stop-N-Go convenience store located at 1101 Elm St. in Waco.

Leroy Randle, of Waco, had already been arrested on an unrelated charge after the robbery, but he has since been served a brand new warrant for the Nov. 13 incident. Investigators said Randle entered the store in the morning and threatened to shoot the clerk, while never actually displaying a weapon -- just reaching for his waistband several times. Police said he stole cigarettes and multiple six packs of beer and bottles of water.

Waco Police said Randle was identified thanks to the "overwhelming help" of members of the community.

"The detective over this case wanted to extend his gratitude to the community for their continued support and helping us keep Mr. Randle behind bars," Officer Garen Bynum said.
