Waco ISD educator appears on JEOPARDY!

Teacher Lindsey Henry, didn't win. But, she still got a big grant for her classroom.

WACO - Dean-Highland Elementary School teacher Lindsey Henry's episode of the 'JEOPARDY! Teachers Tournament' aired Thursday afternoon on KCEN-TV. A viewing party was held at the school, which is located on Maple Avenue in Waco.

The two-week teacher tournament featured educators competing for $100,000 and a spot in the next Tournament of Champions.

Henry did not move on as a semi-finalist. However, she still received $2,500 educational  grant, just for playing. She told Farmers Insurance, which sponsored the Teachers Tournament, she planned to use the grant to promote literacy in her classroom.

"Obviously, I didn't win, which is okay," Henry told Channel Six. "I went in thinking you know no matter what if I win or if I lost. It's going to be a once in a lifetime thing. And, that's exactly how I feel."

From all of us here at Channel Six, congrats on your grant, Lindsey!
