Fort Hood Soldier hospitalized after being shot on post

Fort Hood solider shot this morning

FORT HOOD, Texas – A Fort Hood soldier was shot Friday morning at the intersection of 67th Street and Old Ironsides Avenue on post.

Directorate of Emergency Services personnel responded to reports of shots fired at 3:30 a.m.

Officials said Military police learned that a 24-year-old Soldier with an apparent gunshot wound was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center by another soldier.

The soldier is in stable condition and the shooter is unknown at this time.

The identity of the soldier is unknown. However, he is a soldier with The First Cavalry Division.

United States Army Criminal Investigation Command is the lead investigating agency and the investigation is ongoing.
