3 Temple police officers suspended after internal investigations

Three Temple police officers have been disciplined for the way they handled a criminal investigation.

TEMPLE - Three police officers have been suspended without pay after a conclusion of an internal investigation into the use of force stemming from the arrest of Larry Wayne Parker on August 10, 2016.

Two members, Lieutenant Edward Best and Officer Jayson Jordan were investigated for the handling of a criminal investigation.

The investigation found the both officers conduct and adherence two department policies and procedures was found to be in violation, resulting in receiving a formal discipline of suspensions without pay.

Best is suspended for 25 days and Jordan received a 10-day suspension.

Corporal McNeill Fairey was suspended for three days for violations of force.

Officials said it was determined that the force used by Corporal Fairey was not consistent with the Department policy.

Temple police department said it strives to investigate all allegations of misconduct by officers with the goal of maintaining the highest level of service, accountability and transparency.
