Annual Military Appreciation Luncheon Honors Veterans

Over 80 veterans honored at the event hosted by the Temple Chamber of Commerce

TEMPLE- The 32nd Annual Military Appreciation Luncheon was held to honor over 80 veterans who have dedicated their lives to fighting for our country. This years event specifically honored veterans from World War II and the Korean War.

The event is hosted by the Temple Chamber of Commerce every year and President Rod Henry thinks the community needs an event like this one.  "So many of them have gone unrecognized over the years and this is one time a year where we can stop take a pause and say thank you"

The day started with a procession from the William Courtney State Veterans Home to the Mayborn Convention and Civic Center. Veterans like Marvin Lange were excited to be there. "Well meeting friends recognizing our military and what they do for us and enjoying the food"

And speaking of the food, HEB provided brisket and chicken for the veterans and community to enjoy.

Channel 6 News is proud sponsor of the event.
