Around Central Texas Week of Nov. 28th

Preview of events happening around Central Texas for the week of November 28th, 2016.

Through February 5th: Curious Creatures Exhibit at the Mayborn Museum. Helps visitors of all ages explore how a diverse range of cultures use animal imagery in art, ceremony and in everyday objects. Exhibit run through February 5th at the Baylor Exhibit Gallery.

Through February: Footprints of African Americans in McLennan County. Highlights the history and contributions of African Americans in the local community and beyond. Open Tuesdays through Saturdays at the Fort House Museum. Admission is FREE.

Wednesday, November 30th: Tour McLane Stadium. See everything the stadium has to offer including the locker room, president's suite, recruit lounge and the field. The 90-minute tour costs $10 and tickets can be bought at ticketmaster.com

Thursday, December 1st: 2016 Cove Tree Lighting Ceremony in Copperas Cove. Enjoy LIVE musical performances by Will Janke and Holly Tucker. Event is from 5 PM to 9 PM and costs $5 per car. 

Friday, December 2nd: First day of kickoff weekend at Waco Wonderland. It's a month-long celebration featuring a snow tube hill, tree lighting, fireworks and food trucks. Event begins at 5 PM. Admissions is FREE. The Waco Wonderland weekend ends on Sunday and continues the rest of the month.

Saturday, December 3rd: 2nd Annual Santa Fest Holiday Market in downtown Temple. Event runs from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Sunday, December 4th: Million Dollar Quartet at the Waco Civic Theater. The musical takes you inside the recording studio with four major talents -- Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley --  who came together for one unforgettable night. The Sunday performance begins at 2:30 PM and tickets range from $16 to $20.
