Around Central Texas Week of Oct. 17th

Preview of events happening around Central Texas for the week of October 17th, 2016.

Monday, October 17th: Waco Jazz Orchestra Concert at McLennan Community College. Event is FREE and runs from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Tuesday, October 18th: Helping Hands Happy Hour Community Cancer Association. Raffle tickets are $10 each, 3 for $25 or 7 for $50. Event is FREE to attend at the Baylor Club in McLane Stadium starting at 5:30 PM.

Wednesday, October 19th: Blessing at the Pumpkin Patch. The Central Christian Church in Waco will be on hand to give your pet a blessing. Event features a pet photo booth and costume contest. Blessings begin at 7 PM.

Thursday, October 20th: Catch the first performance of Phantom of the Opera at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. Tickets range from $55 to $220. Performance runs until October 30th.

Friday, October 21st: Opening day of Sweeney Todd at the Waco Civic Theater. Performance begins at 7:30 PM and tickets range from $16 to $20. The musical runs until November 6th.

Saturday, October 22nd: Visit Sitting Up with the Dead: A Victorian Funeral and Spiritualism Exhibit. The spooky East Terrace Home tour will give you a glance at a replica of President Lincoln's Casket, funeral cakes and funeral demonstrations. The eerie house tour continues through November 5th.

Sunday, October 23rd: Support your local Baylor Bears Women's Soccer. The Bears will take on the University of Kansas from 1 to 4 PM at McLane Stadium.
