Around Central Texas Week of Oct. 3rd

Preview of events happening around Central Texas for the week of October 3rd, 2016.

Monday, October 3rd: 2016 Patriot Way Golf Classic Tournament. The four-person scramble will be held at the Wildflower Country Club in Temple. Event runs from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Tuesday, October 4th: Painting and Drawing workshop in Temple. Workshop led by Barbara Wilson, founder and instructor of Wilson School of Art for 35 years. Event runs from noon to 2 PM and costs $40 each month.

Wednesday, October 5th: Enter the 6th Annual National Fossil Day Art Contest at Waco National Monument. This year's theme is your favorite fossil from a national park. Deadline to apply is October 5th.

Thursday, October 6th: Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo Sneak Peak. Fair admission is $5 and all carnival rides are $2. After that, prices go up to $10 for ages 13 and over and $5 for kids. Event runs though October 15th at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.

Friday, October 7th: Discover more of Waco at the Welcome to Waco event. It features food samples, music and art. Event is FREE from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Saturday, October 8th: Brew at the Zoo at the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. Sample up to 20 beers from all over the world. Event runs from 6 to 11 PM. Tickets are $25 for designated driver, $35 for members, and $45 for general admission.

Sunday, October 9th: Waco Mammoth National Monument is hosting a scavenger hunt from 9 AM to 5 PM. Once you complete the hunt you will ear a special junior ranger certificate.
