SALADO (TX)- The owners of Barrow Brewery Co. were approached with the idea by Justin, a local cyclist. Justin asked them if they would be open to the idea of having water out for cyclist because he says it's a big deal when cyclists plan their routes to have water stops.
K.D. Hill and her husband liked the idea and decided to cut into the pipes of their cold liquor tank where the water is stored and use that as the water source. The cycling community now stops at the brewery during their rides to fill their bottles up. And although the idea is growing within the community, K.D. hopes the idea does more than just provide water to cyclists. "People say they want Salado to be more pedestrian friendly and i think places like this where you have guaranteed water that's fresh and clean just encourages people to go out and be active."
