Douglass Foster, Killeen Fire Department Battalion said one firefighter did suffer minor injuries while fighting the fire.

While no one else was injured, several cats had to be rescued by first responders.

"At this time, I cannot really comment in terms of what the total losses are," Foster said. "There will be extensive renovations at minimum. We do have City of Killeen building officials on the scene."

The manager of the apartments said they are working to find alternative housing overnight for any affected residents.
