DPS investigating car chase in Coryell County, Fort Hood

Police are searching for a suspect connected to a Tuesday afternoon car chase in Coryell County.

Officials said about 12:21 p.m., a Texas DPS Trooper attempted to pull over a Blue Toyota 2-door passenger car occupied by a male driving eastbound on US 190  between Copperas Cove and Killeen for a traffic violation.

The car refused to stop while continuing through Bell County and eventually exited the highway – driving onto Fort Hood through the Clear Creek entrance passing all gate security.

The Toyota continued to evade the Trooper on Fort Hood and eventually exited post westbound on State Highway 9. The trooper lost sign of the car after leaving Fort Hood and later found the vehicle abandoned on FM 116 on the north side of Copperas Cove.

The case is still under investigation at this time.

No more information is available at this time.
