East Waco library will have a grand re-opening

WACO, TEXAS - Saturday, September 17th the City of Waco will celebrate the Grand Reopening of the East Waco Library located at 901 Elm Avenue from 10am until 12noon. Citizens from all over Waco are invited to join the Mayor, City Council members and City Staff for this much anticipated event.

Renovations to expand, modernize and re-roof the building began in May, 2015.

The library’s space was increased by 40% after gaining area previously used by the Police Department. This facilitated a larger entrance and lobby with seating, plus comfortable reading and researching nooks throughout the updated library.

Other improvement include an enlarged children’s department and new teen space, a quiet room and a new computer training area with more computers available for public use. The library’s meeting room was also expanded with increased seating and state of the art presentation equipment.
