KILLEEN, TEXAS- We introduced you to the Family, Food, and Fun program four weeks ago when it kicked off for the month of June. Families participated in a four week program once a week where their children were able to learn about the benefits of being healthy. They also had a chance to cook different recipes every week.
Program Director, Blair Murphy says the results are there. She says it's been an exciting journey to see the kids excited about the program and everything they are learning. Murphy says as the program continues to be offered, they will continue making the necessary changes to accommodate bigger crowds and older kids as well.
For the final week of the program, families took part in a cook off where celebrity judges, including the CEO of Baylor Scott & White, Jim Hinton attended. He says it's programs like Family, Food, and Fun that health care companies should focus on. Hinton says the program is an excellent idea to excel health care.
The program kicks off July 6th for the month of July cycle.
